GROUNDSKEEPER

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a full-time Groundskeeper to help oversee a large apartment community located in Milwaukee, WI.  The Groundskeeper performs a variety of tasks and responsibilities to maintain grounds of property for either conventional or government housing departments. This is a full-time position requiring regular attendance in accordance with Metropolitan Associates attendance policy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Groundskeeper cuts, rakes, trims, edges, plants lawn and plants and waters as necessary.
  • Seeds grounds where necessary.
  • Prunes shrubs and trees and sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees.
  • Shovels snow from walks and driveways and spreads salt on public passageways.
  • Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks and paints as necessary.
  • Picks up trash on grounds and parking lots.
  • Assists in the turning over of vacant apartments.
  • Assists in custodial function including cleaning of hallways, storage rooms and laundry rooms.

Job Skills

  • Must be a reliable worker who is able to perform routine tasks without supervision.
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including lawn mower, grass trimmers, shears, pruner, shovels, wheel barrel, rakes, weed whip, hammers, saws, screw drivers, snow blower, ice chopper, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • Must have valid drivers license.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Maintenance Technician Job Summary

We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to help oversee a large apartment community located in Milwaukee, WI.  The Maintenance Technician will perform routine maintenance duties to include; rough and finish carpentry, painting, equipment and facility repairs. Electrical and plumbing repairs will also be performed. This is a full-time position requiring regular attendance in accordance with Metropolitan Associates’ attendance policy, valid driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle as frequent travel is required.  If you are looking for an opportunity with a growing organization, please keep reading!  

We are offering a $500.00 hiring bonus for qualified Maintenance Technicians!

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Technician responds to management, staff, and resident maintenance requests and quickly executes performance of requests
  • Perform inspections of all apartments, buildings and common areas
  • Report and/or perform repairs as necessary and complete necessary paperwork
  • Maintains tools and maintenance equipment to ensure they are in good working order; keeps maintenance room in neat condition
  • Maintenance Technician performs electrical, heating, and plumbing repairs including: Basic electrical ability, changing outlets, fixtures and breakers. Basic HVAC knowledge of boilers and forced air furnaces. Basic plumbing such as changing out faucets, re-piping, replacing toilets, replacing sinks and unclogging drains
  • Carpentry background to include, installation of doors to include interior and exterior cabinets, subfloors, countertops, installing shelves, hooks, or closet rods
  • Basic roofing skills such as tarring stack pipes, vents and patching
  • Assist in preparation of vacant apartments for new residents, including; carpentry work, drywall, painting, staining, and other necessary repairs and improvements
  • Perform maintenance work at different locations as required
  • Available to respond to emergency calls when on-call after hours

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including circular saw, drill, jig saw, electrical tester, hand tools, power tools, cordless tools
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

ACCOUNTING CLERK - PART-TIME

COLLECTIONS ASSISTANT

Collections Assistant Job Responsibilities

  • Assists Collections Manager with all general collections processes.
  • Assists Collections Manager in the monitoring of collection revenue totals to achieve monthly revenue goals.
  • Assists Collections Manager in the monitoring of delinquent status report and provides timely recaps and updates of relevant activities to necessary staff.
  • Coordinates and informs Property Managers of delinquent accounts.
  • Addresses customer inquiries regarding account status.
  • Process and monitors written correspondence addressing customers' delinquent accounts.
  • Inputs routine resident charge-backs.
  • Process and monitors skip-tracing activities.
  • Has a working knowledge of state and federal laws applying to collection and landlord/tenant activities.
  • Assists Collections Manager with preparation and filing of paperwork for court proceedings including: bankruptcies, evictions, garnishments, judgements and satisfactions.
  • Coordinates with attorneys on various legal matters.
  • Files appropriate delinquent accounts with collection agency when necessary.

Collections Assistant Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of two years collection related experience preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills.
  • High expectation to work independently.
  • Must possess the ability to multitask in a fast paced office environment.
